The Prime Minster of Italy,
Rome.
Italy.
Subject : Statement of Italy's Ambassador in India about Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose.
Hon'ble Mr.Prime Minister,
Jai Hind.
I beg to draw your kind attention to a statement which is reported to have been made by Mr.Alessandro Quaroni, Italy's Ambassdor to India about the legendry revolutionary hero of India Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. You may be aware of the fact that Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the Head of Provisional Govt of Azad Hind and the Supreme Commander of the Indian National Army organized by him in the South East Asia during the Second World War, was alleged to have died in an air crash at Taihoku in Taiwan on 18th August,1945 in an air crash. The people of India and also of many other countries never accepted Netaji's death in the alleged air crash. Compelled by the public demand, the Govt. of India had to thrice appoint Inquiry Committee or Inquiry Commission to probe into the matter. Justice M.K.Mukherjee Commission of Inquiry was the last such Commision. It has given it's finding that :
"He did not die in the plane crash,as alleged."
The Govt. of Taiwan also has reported in writing that no air crash took place at Taihoku on 18th August,1945; and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose did'nt die in the said air crash.
Mr.Alessandro Quaroni is reported to have said at Kolkata on 23rd January,2009,
" I personally do not see the point of research because unfortunately, the person Netaji died……..I think in spite of the legend that (Subhas) Chandra Bose has not died, probably his death really happened in August 1945."
